Valentine and Proteus are the best of friends, until they fall in love with the same woman – Silvia. Forsaking his first love, Julia, Proteus sets out to betray his unsuspecting friend, Valentine, only to find that both Silvia and Julia have a few lessons to teach him about loyalty and love. Throw in a circus of outlaws, dim-witted parents, a cross-dressing heroine, and a pair of antic clowns (one with a love of dogs, the other of rollerskates) and you wind up with a romantic comedy that promises to entertain audiences of any ilk.
Kira began her performing career in high school and hasn’t looked back since. She was born outside of Portland, Oregon and has been performing professionally in that area for the past five years. Her Portland area credits include: It’s a Wonderful Life with Stumptown Stages, Young Frankenstein with Lakewood Theatre Company, Dreamgirls with Portland Center Stage, The Snowstorm with CoHo/Many Hats Collaboration (Drammy for Best Production), and Grease with Broadway Rose Theatre Company. Other credits include Company (April), The Crucible (Abigail), The Ladies Man (Yvonne), The Liar (Lucrece), Almost, Maine (Glory/Gayle), and Picnic (Madge). Kira graduated from Western Oregon University with a BFA in Acting. She has also filmed with The Art Institute of Portland and directed/choreographed summer camps for Spotlight Musical Theatre Academy. She thanks her friends and family for their undying love and support.
Andrew is a recent Seattle transplant originally from the Southwest. Having performed since the age of 11, Andrew has spent the past five years specializing in physical theatre – he has been trained in commedia dell’arte, clowning, and Michael Chekhov acting technique. In 2014, he studied at California State University for their Summer Artisans program where he learned other various skill sets in acrobatics such as Chinese pole, Lyra, and Silks/Hammock.
Maggie has also worked with TAO, Lakewood Playhouse, Annex Theatre and the Indiana Repertory Theatre. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Theatre Performance (Go Blue!). Love to Christian, who brings love, laughter and magic into her life.
Other local roles include Captain Hook in Peter Pan (OSD Players and CTE), Toad in The Wind in the Willows (OFT), Clov in Endgame (Calpurnia’s Dream), Richard in Fuddy Meers, and Adam in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me (Centralia College). Jason has directed numerous shows for children and is going into his fifteenth season as the director of Creative Theatre Experience’s Showcase program. He currently teaches Drama and Social Studies at Thurgood Marshall Middle School here in Olympia. Jason owes everything to his beautiful family for their tremendous love and support. Xander is thrilled to return to a Harlequin production. Last season, he performed in Sweeney Todd, and played Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice and Clifford Anderson in Deathtrap. You may have also seen him in A Christmas Carol (2022, 2023), Baskerville, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Present Laughter, The Art of Racing in the Rain, The 1940’s Radio Hour, or in the Stardust series. More recent shows include Lorca in a Green Dress at Tacoma Little Theater, and The Mystery Plays and The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong with Theater Artists Olympia. Some favorite productions include Cinder Edna at Olympia Family Theater, St. Martin’s production of Equivocation, Hamlet with South Puget Sound Community College, Night Must Fall at Olympia Little Theatre, The Rocky Horror Show at Lakewood Playhouse, and The Head That Wouldn’t Die! at Theater Artists Olympia.
Jon enjoys acting in films and commercials as well as stage plays. His most recent Shakespeare production was Much Ado About Nothing. Jon also likes biking, hiking and kayaking.
Other local credits nclude Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Animal Fire Theatre Group), Polixenes in A Winter’s Tale, and Ferdinand in The Tempest at his alma mater, The Evergreen State College, where he also directed Twelfth Night and founded The Evergreen Shakespeare Society. Portland credits include Costard in Love’s Labour’s Lost (Post5 Theatre), Remme in Remme’s Run (Fertile Ground New Works Festival), and Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol (Portland Playhouse).
A Washington native, Adam moved back to Seattle two years ago after earning his MFA in Acting from Indiana University where he acted, directed, and taught movement and acting. Since returning to Washington, Adam has performed on many different stages in and around Seattle. Some of his favorite productions include The Pillowman and Noises Off (SecondStory Rep), As You Like It (ACT), The Two Noble Kinsmen (Green Stage), and Creature (Theater Schmeater). Adam sends all his love to his two girls: his wife, Melissa, and his daughter, Stella. Without their love, support, and willingness to let him do this crazy theatre thing, he wouldn’t be on stage today.
