Meet the Cast of Six Hotels

Brian Claudio SmithBrian Claudio Smith
Brian's most recent work with Harlequin was playing identical twins, Frankie and Philly Verga, in our premiere of Sins of the Mother by Israel Horovitz. He recently reprised the twin roles at Florida Stage. Other Harlequin roles include another set of twins, Rex and Ralph Morino, in The Twelfth Night of Stardust, Banquo and the Porter in Macbeth, Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Flavio Ando in Ladies of the Camellias, the Visitor in Under a Mantle of Stars, and Dorante in The Game of Love and Chance. Last fall he performed in the northwest premiere of Tryst at Seattle Public Theater, and he is a regular at Seattle Shakespeare Company where he has performed in The Merchant of Venice, Henry IV, The Miser, School for Scandal, Romeo and Juliet, and As You Like It.

David NailDavid Nail
David played the role of Dubbah in our premiere of Sins of the Mother by Israel Horovitz. He, like Brian, reprised his role recently at Florida Stage. He also had the opportunity to play the same damn role in the Gloucester Stage production last summer. As he says, "I've been doing the same show for over a year. I'm really looking forward to learning some new lines!"

David is a graduate of the Performing Artists' Musical Theatre Conservatory in Dallas and holds a BFA in theater performance and direction from Texas Wesleyan University. He's been working in theater and lighting design for years, but we met him in a bar. He was the bartender. We asked him if he wanted to do some more acting. He did. We cast him. Now he's all over the place. Go figure.

Helen HarvesterHelen Harvester
Last summer Helen played Abby the Werewolf in Mating Dance of the Werewolf. That's all she's done at Harlequin so far, but now she's doing Six Hotels. If that doesn't make you happy, then obviously you missed Mating Dance. Helen graduated from Vassar, then received an MFA in stage movement from from the Boris Shchukin State Theatre Institute in Moscow. (Russia, not Idaho.) She's performed at Center Stage, Greenstage, and now she's back on the Harlequin stage. Later in the year she'll be playing Elizabeth, the love interest of Mr. Hyde, in our summer production of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Caitlin Frances
Caitlin has performed at Harlequin in The Twelfth Night of Stardust and Measure for Measure. She recently played leading roles in Enchanted April and Contact at Center Stage and My Fair Lady at Second Story Rep, where she was the Managing Director for many years. Recent directing credits include Igor Stravinsky's A Soldiers Tale for Marrowstone Summer Music 2006 in Bellingham, Washington, The Nerd, The Complete History of America (Abridged), Deathtrap, The Marketing of Mabo Jones, and Blithe Spirit.
