SCOT WHITNEY, Managing Artistic Director

Scot is one of the founders of Harlequin Productions (1991) and serves as its Managing Artistic Director. He was an obsessive filmmaker for many years, but found great relief from that malady by becoming an obsessive theater director. Favorite directing projects include A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, ENRICO IV, FROZEN, THE WOMAN IN BLACK, MEASURE FOR MEASURE, THE LOVE LIST, ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD, HAMLET, THE LONESOME WEST, KING JOHN, THE WEIR, DRACULA, HAPGOOD, SIXTEEN WORDS FOR WATER, CYRANO DE BERGERAC, THE TEMPEST, WAITING FOR GODOT, CYMBELINE, THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA and A ROCK'N'ROLL TWELFTH NIGHT. He has won numerous awards for film and theater direction and for his leadership in the State Theater project. Two of his productions--THE TEMPEST and HAPGOOD--are included in the permanent collection at the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive at the Lincoln Center in New York.
